    You do need to sit with your hands in the dryer for 3 cycles, or like 10-15 minutes.

    Or just have her buff them, not polish.

    Agree with kate. I always sit at least 15 minutes and then usually don’t have a problem! A buff would also look great and give you an extra shine! I’d definitely go for clean looking nails/cuticles and shine.

    The husband likes pedicures and gets his toes buffed and LOVES it.

    @Kate – mental note added.

    I used to love playing with my grandma’s nail color dryer thing. It was the same shade of nail color she always used, so it kinda matched. I feel like I should take a blow dryer and blow dry them. Haha!

    @TheHizzy If you have nice nails, I wouldn’t sweat it. I have nice nails: long nail beds, they can grow long without getting brittle, my cuticles look nice without help, they don’t peel and I don’t bite them, etc. I get compliments on them even when I’m not wearing nail polish or actively trying to get them to look nice. So if you generally have healthy nails, I wouldn’t worry too much. Just file ’em nicely.

    I’m obsessed with the SNS/dip manicures. I have oily nail beds, and regular nail polish chips within 24 hours, and gels lift within a week. The SNS manicures usually last me at least two weeks, and it’s only $5 more at my salon.

    Ok so regarding fake lashes. I’ve gotten extensions a couple of times and my husband is an eye doctor, so I have info! They are quite expensive, and while you might be able to stretch it to four weeks, you’re supposed to get them filled every three. It’s a lot of upkeep. They do look amazing though.

    If you’re going to get them for a wedding, definitely get them fully done 6 weeks in advance, then filled once 3 weeks before and once closer to. According to my husband, if you’re going to have an allergic reaction to the glue it’ll happen on your second exposure. And you can also still get puffy eyelids as a reaction even if you’re not allergic if your eyes are particularly dry, which is what happened to me last time. He said to help prevent that you can take omega 3’s for a few weeks beforehand (which is also just good for dry eyes).

    Personally I think you can get almost the same look with false lashes that you glue on, but that’s all personal preference (and extensions definitely look more like they’re your real lashes). Most place that do extensions will also glue on fake lashes for you for $10ish, or ulta or Sephora. Or my hairdresser has done them for me before too!

    I did the gel dip nails. I wasn’t a fan; the thickness reminded me of acrylics. That was at a salon I was just testing out though; maybe I should try it again?
    Regular gelish manicures are a weakness though. I dont wear a lot of makeup (Like, its a good day when I remember my moisturizer AND lipstick) but I love having feminine looking hands.

    Not that you need or want it but for times I don’t wear makeup, which is regularly, I use Laura Marcier tinted moisturizer and love it. Just enough coverage to huge any small discoloration or sleepyneas.

    I use to love that tinted moisturized! I’ve switched to Kiehl’s BB cream.

    That said does anybody have any eye cream they really like?

    Constant search for a good eye cream as well. No wrinkles yet and I do use one but don’t feel like I’ve found “the one”.
