Aaahhgain. Anyone who voted for Trump said to themself, at the very least, “yeah, he bragged about sexually assaulting women, and he said terrible things about Mexicans, and he took out that full page ad in the New York Times accusing actually innocent Black teens of murder, and he insisted Obama is not American and didn’t apologize when proven wrong, and wants to ban Muslims, but you know what, I’m gonna just put that aside because I cannot bring myself to vote for that nasty woman.”
They are racist.
BittergaymarkJune 8, 2020 at 6:58 pm #888333Oh, for fucks sake. I was talking about you saying Ron might be racist. It’s like a broken record in here today.
PS — Trump was a unrepentant racist fuck when your mom gleefully lined up and bought a book from that schmuck. That you or you mom (i forget who has the damn photo) on display a picture of THAT in one of your homes is far more blatantly racist than anything Ron said.
It’s not on display, and don’t even go there about my mom. That’s cheap as hell and you know it.
She was going to throw it away and I saved it because it’s like an artifact. It’s in a drawer in my desk. She was in New York on a business trip or something and saw the book signing. At the time, she didn’t know, but she figured it out well in advance of the election. She’s definitely never voted Republican.
Edit: she probably did know he was a dick at the time, and was buying the book for my dickhead uncle or something. I don’t remember it being around the house as a kid.
BittergaymarkJune 8, 2020 at 7:19 pm #888337An artifact, sure. But of what? Only the most idiotic, fucked-in-the-head, racist, sexist, most horrible President ever. The monster who has now forever tainted and simply wrecked America.
No exaggeration. Trump has pretty much laid waste to all of America. Game over. This failed state will NEVER recover. Not in our lifetimes.
Honestly, Kate. Considering your constant, justifiable rage against Trump… it is a pretty bizarre thing to hold onto.
Also, you just casually called my mom racist after clutching your pearls about people tossing the word racist around casually, so really nice job all around on that attempted shot.
Oh, here’s her response:
“ I knew he was a showy conceited probably fake success…yes asshole but I didnt really use that term then. But didnt know like the whole racist background of his father, etc. He reminded me of Al sort of so that’s why I bothered to stop and get the autograph. It was kind of backhanded to Al. ”
(Al was my dickhead former uncle before he left my aunt for his best friend’s wife).
ronJune 8, 2020 at 7:22 pm #888339I have never made excuses for Trump voters. Anyone, regardless of past voting history, who has decided to vote Trump out of office this year is not a Trump voter. They are a former Trump voter. As i said multiple times upthread, the 35% Trump core (and those who support him are shrinking rapidly. For those of us who wish racism would finally just disappear, the speed with which Trump’s support is declining in the past week should be very heartening and a source of joy) I suspect that the past 4 years have been worse for you, because I think the normal reaction would naturally be: hurray! An awful lot of Americans have finally come to their senses, seen Trump for who he is, and rejected him. To take that huge positive and turn it into a negative: these new converts are still racists and will never wash the stain of voting for Trump from their reputation is foreign to me. Like the missionary seeking converts, I am thrilled to invite more voters into the anti-Trump club. That is how we will rid our land of Trump. Being retired, with an industry pension, I haven’t really felt any economic pain. Given our health conditions, my wife an I do live in dread of Covid. We are very upset and saddened to see so much progressive accomplishment and momentum wiped aside in three and a half year, along with the knowledge that the Supreme Court will be making bad decisions for a decade, even if Justice Ginsburg manages to stay on the court until February. It is maddeningly sad. 2020 is our last chance, at least in my lifetime. The most maddening part of it to me is that we did this to ourselves. Those who stayed home during the 2010 mid-terms allowed Republicans to gerrymander the U.S. House and State Houses.
Here’s more from my mom:
“ I knew they were both kind of, i dont know, mainstream male is how I thought of it at the time. I didnt like it or respect it, but I didnt really have the language for the whole thing at the time. I felt out of step because other people didn’t feel the way I did. ”
Ron, he could still win. Sorry I’m not dancing in the street about how some fucking dumb racists finally realized their lives actually got worse under Trump. At least they’re ALIVE and not passed away from coronavirus, police brutality, domestic terrorism, gun violence, uh, being deported to be murdered, injecting Lysol, etc. God.
