Wow, Kate. That’s heartbreaking.
Learned today that apparently, “doctors in the area” (which I suspect is code for “Facebook” because I’ve heard the exact same story from people several states apart) have told them that hospitals are filled with people dying from the vaccine, not Covid. I don’t know how those treating these Covidiots stay sane.
LisforLeslieSeptember 7, 2021 at 6:38 am #1097327I’m wondering how this plays out…

BittergaymarkSeptember 7, 2021 at 2:26 pm #1097345I fled to the desert late yesterday afternoon for the first time in nearly two months… Yeah… I was worried the yard might look like hell, but everything seems to be thriving. There were two big monsoons out here and Charley came out here once or twice and watered. But it’s been 105 or so plus for months!! (Which is normal.)
But I chose VERY hardy local plants. So yay — me.
It’s HOT. I think 106. Whew. But the nights out here are gorgeous!! It drops down to upper 80s and I stay up late. That’s when I water, etc.
Glad I came, this was a very impulsive trip. (Decided to come yesterday morning…). I have to be back in LA Wednesday afternoon. SO less than 48 hours. But WORTH it. 🙂
LA is weird right now. It just feels strange. Very strange. I worked six days (12 to 14 hour days( straight last week — two back to back shoots. (They went well.) And so I was Covid tested four times… yee haw! Still negative.
I dunno. It’s crazy that it’s September. Confusing actually. Very,
LisforLeslieSeptember 7, 2021 at 3:54 pm #1097352@BGM – glad you had your trip and that it was the refresher you needed (although super fucking hot).
I ended up in the ER on Sunday (massive, hours long attack of vertigo, scary as fuck). And it was quiet! There were open beds. All the nurses and docs were double masked and they would gown up if they felt PPE was needed but most of the time, just the double masks.
Ok – it was quiet until teeny tiny woman named Sylvia demanded to see a doctor, couldn’t understand why she had been waiting a half hour and just wanted an enema because she had diverticulitis. I know more about this 95 year old woman’s bowels than I ever wanted to. She kept threatening to walk out and the nurses were like “OK, let me know if you want us to process your paperwork”.
LisforLeslieSeptember 8, 2021 at 12:40 pm #1097377My company will require all US people be vaccinated by a specific date later this year. If you don’t want to be vaccinated you will need to go through medical or religious exemption. It will be interesting to see how many people try that. If you don’t show proof and have no exemption you are out.
September 8, 2021 at 3:16 pm #1097382I wish all companies would require the vaccine. Maybe we could actually reach heard immunity that way. My oldest daughter got a new job and they are requiring her to get vaccinated. Finally. It was really hard for me to believe this person, that I raised, could fall for some of the vaccine hoaxes out there. I tried talking to her about it, but I would just get angry. Anyway, at least she’ll be vaccinated now.
LisforLeslieSeptember 8, 2021 at 4:12 pm #1097383Yeah – I’m thrilled. The gist of the message was “We believe in science.” I suspect, but have absolutely no proof, that one of our development teams will be testing some AI to verify real/not real cards as a sellable product to TSA and others.
