Helen, my husband and I both had mild symptoms and they came in waves for me, and now for my husband too. He felt good yesterday, but feels lousy again today (and is currently in bed with more chest pains). I think this is normal, but it is concerning that you’ve been sick for so long and that your lungs feel so bad. I’m sorry. I wish I had advice, but this is out of my scope of knowledge. Maybe check in with your doctor again?
Our weather makes me so sad today. If it weren’t for Covid19, I’d be in Savannah right now. Probably already having had two too many drinks. This weekend is my annual Heritage Golf Tournament Hilton Head weekend with my cousins and our spouses. It was also going to be my cousin’s first trip after having her son at 25 weeks two January’s ago (her husband was going to graciously stay home with baby since it’s her birthday).
HelenApril 17, 2020 at 1:35 pm #880645Wendy I’ve been learning that this can come in waves. I was feeling ok for a few days and crashed again this morning. My O2 is good, found the meter my daughter ran off with, so I’ll hold off on calling the dr for now. I’ve had 2 chest xrays and a CT scan that came out good. Hope you guys are back on your feet soon! With immunity! That’s how I’m soothing my anxiety, at least we now likely have some immunity.
MG I was able to get tested 3.5 weeks into my illness and it came back negative! The test they’re using in GA has a 30% false negative rate. Either I’m in the 30% or I had recovered enough to have a low viral load. What else could this be! Sure, I have some mental health issues but I can’t make up the month long fever & dropping O2 stats. And my husband was sick enough to require a trip to the er, where he tested negative for the flu, and my kids had a slightly runny nose and cough when my husband’s symptoms began. My symptoms started 5 days later….but my test was negative. My husband is not a conspiracy theorist, and he typically votes Republican, but he’s convinced Kemp is trying to keep the numbers low by shady means. I don’t disagree, he won against stacy Abrams by some very shady means

That’s a horrifying stat!
So relatively off subject, but I bought and tried the John Freida brush that @Kate mentioned pages back in this thread and it’s awesome. I was getting a lot of compliments on my hair on Zoom calls using the Revlon brush (apparently some people thought I got blow outs, which I’ve never done before). This one is lighter weight, smaller, and does a better job, but takes longer.
BittergaymarkApril 17, 2020 at 2:27 pm #880649Yikes. So glad america will just soon gleefully open up again like the abject idiots most of our nation clearly is. Sigh…
Stay safe everybody.
Stay on top of things, Helen!
Truth? Not having a good day here at all. Just… no. Going to go for a walk to clear my head. Or at least try.
Yeah, Copa, the JF brush takes longer so might not be the top choice of busy moms, but you can do more of a style with it and it holds up better during the week.
I always use both brushes on low because my hair can’t take a lot of heat, so I let my hair air dry a while before starting.
The other thing that will get you compliments on Zoom is headbands.
Plus you can go longer now without washing your hair because it’s not apparent how dirty it is. I’ll go 6 days, and I don’t have thick hair.
I use both on high. The Revlon one basically blows your face off on high, but my hair hasn’t really suffered from heat styling (according to my stylist). The JF high setting seems comparable to the Revlon low. My hair is thick and I learned the hard way that my hair needs to be waaay drier before starting and I need to work in smaller sections. Today was my second attempt at it and I’m still figuring it out but it was a less frustrating process with better results. Round brushing my hair is the only way I can get my style to last multiple days, but I tend to avoid that process because it’s time consuming for me (hair is pretty coarse and my arms get tired trying to juggle two tools and create enough tension) and tedious. This is way faster, easier, and the end results smoother. Anyway, enough about my hair — appreciated the rec and am a fan, and will now be recommending this to others as a Revlon alternative. Haha.
ETA: Really, though, my ultimate hair dream is to have hair that air dries nicely. I can’t even imagine that life.
HelenApril 17, 2020 at 5:26 pm #880666Hang in there BGM.
I have super thin, super oily hair that has to be washed daily. I wish I could send you a picture of what I look like in the morning! When I hear about women who can go days in between hair washing I’m jealous and can’t even comprehend what that life is likeMy roots are pretty greasy on day 5 (day 3 of dry shampoo), but I keep pushing it because why not.
Same, Copa. It won’t just air dry nice. I would have to stay inside and sit still, and then use a curling iron on parts of it once it’s dry. I would kill to be able to wash and go.
