I like Stacy Abrams a lot but she doesn’t have the experience to step into the role of presidents at a moment’s notice. My hope is that Biden chooses Warren. I don’t like them anywhere near as well, but Klobuchar or Harris would be smart choices too (Klobuchar probably a smarter choice since she would help in the rust belt and since Harris would appeal most to a demographic Biden already has a strong hold on).
April 24, 2020 at 6:54 am #881371I’m still upset that we are debating which woman would be the best VP choice for a man who isn’t half the presidential candidate any of them would be.
April 24, 2020 at 9:50 am #881385Yes 100000% Wendy.
My hope is for Elizabeth Warren. I also do like Klobuchar.
Also, re: dog grooming re-opening. I’m glad about that. My dog gets matted and kinda gross without regular haircuts. We’d have survived, but I made an appointment for next month at one of the groomers I like earlier this month figuring worst case scenario, it’d just be moved to June. That would’ve been fine. But then I heard from a friend who goes to the same groomer that they were actually still doing grooming last month, but on a limited schedule. I hadn’t realized that, though I’ve felt all this time that with proper protocol, could be done in a way that I feel safe. Anyway, I’ll be keeping my May appointment.
ronApril 24, 2020 at 10:08 am #881392I’d like to see a governor as V.P., both for the executive experience and so we don’t lose a senate seat. I really like Gretchen Whitmer — she has done a good job in an upper Midwest state and is a great communicator. She is someone who would be a very plausible president if Biden can’t finish his term and a good 2024 candidate if he does. Klobuchar was my first choice for president, but I’d rather not risk her senate seat on V.P. I think if Biden wins — far from a sure thing — we have a good chance to retake the senate, so no senators for cabinet positions either. If we win the senate, it likely is a bare majority or a one-seat cushion. With the filibuster in place and a bare 60 votes, Obama had to cater to the most conservative Dem senator. It would be nice not to have Manchin always wag the dog.
Part-time LurkerApril 24, 2020 at 1:47 pm #881408Helen – so sorry to hear you’re still battling this. That totally sucks ass.
BGM – I was finally able to see some of the pics. Thanks!
And now for everyone’s amusement the top 4 things I’ve learned NOT to do during a pandemic. Why 4, you say? Because top 3’s are just done to death and a top 10 just takes too long.
4. Do not watch Outbreak or movies like Outbreak.
3. Now is not the time to reread The Stand.
2. Do not exit your bathroom and loudly proclaim “Goddamnit I just started my fucking period again.” Your husband might just be on a conference call with the whole. Entire. Factory.
1. Do not listen to Gordon Lightfoot’s, The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. Jesus Mary mother of Christ. Is there anything more depressing?HelenApril 24, 2020 at 2:28 pm #881413Part time lurker you made me spit out my tea!
Abrams does lack experience. She campaigned hard here and I guess it influences me. I like her. Especially compared to kemp! From my limited social media view it appears nobody’s going outside or opening up. I know of one restaurant advertising patio seating (limit of 10 people to a table) And a kids haircut place that I’ve been boycotting for years has also opened. I’m actually going to watch the local news to see if that’s true. Day before yesterday I was feeling good & it had been several days since I had symptoms (besides chest pain, I think my chest just hurts now?) I was thinking fuck it, we have immunity & are no longer infectious, let’s get the kids out of this house. Fever & SOB came back the next day. Third wave of this shit. This is why we should not be open!!! -
