Everyone tipping extra I promise its appreciated! Less people tip with the no contact deliveries. A shocking amount of people are ok with ripping you off if they don’t have to look you in the eye. Some will even lure you with a big tip only to take it away after delivery. I just overheard some nurses talking about the patients they expect to lose soon. So heartbreaking what I just heard.

Cattygolightly about where in GA are you? I’m north. I’d love to live closer to Atlanta. There’s just a different type of person there vs here. But, you know, money

We had a few states with 0 new cases yesterday, it’s a good sign. A few beaches have been allowed to open up as long as people go straight in and out without hanging on the sand. We had some issues with people crowding on them when this first broke out and the backlash was so severe the beaches were closed entirely and police came in to make sure they stayed closed.

Funnily enough I had to go to a different supermarket the other day for something I can only get there and like half the shopping centre was open. It felt kind of surreal, I could have wandered around browsing as if it was any other day. I didn’t but honestly it did make me wonder how on earth we did so well numbers wise.

Ange you’re lucky your country has been strict about lockdown. Grab the popcorn and watch what’s about to happen in America. Cases are exploding, tests are rare, and our president says schools should open. My state is pretty much open. Sitting in my hospital bed looking at people posting the mani they got today. Fuck it. Burn America to the ground and start over

@Helen – That SUCKS. Maybe you should take hydrocloriquine? Or gargle bleach? what about that silver cure that one guy is touting?

In all seriousness, please get better soon.

None of the states that are opening have met the scientific criteria. I’ve noted my opinion on science-deniers before but I’ll repeat it again: If you don’t want to believe in science (Vaccines, climate change, germ-theory, etc.) that’s fine – but you are entitled to no science. Vaccines are scam from big pharma – ok, give up all of your prescription or OTC drugs, you also have to give up your fancy fridge, microwave and your computer. You don’t believe climate change is a big deal – ok, give up your car, your smart phone, your air conditioning and your memory foam mattress. You can’t pick and choose the field of science in which to believe (I’ll give a pass on psychology and psychiatry because we don’t know why medicines impact the brain – we just know that they do).

Here in retirement land, the golf course will be reopening on Friday, as will the pool exercise lanes and the tennis courts. I don’t know if tennis balls carry the germ, but the other activities can be done without much interactions. Golf will be one person per cart, no rakes on the traps, and no flag touching/removal. We’ll see how that goes.

Golf — honestly, if held firm to one person per cart — actually sounds fairly safe. I can see how players can easily stay six feet apart. The only danger of contact would be handling the flag on the putting green. Which can be avoided for the most part — I think.

Swimming lanes, however, strike me as 100% absolutely insane. Aye-yi-yi.

Got up at 6:15. No roadrunner. But no wind either. Yay! More painting! Meaning I now only need to spray a even second coat on the tabletop — hopefully, will do so in half an hour — and my journey to the end of patio furniture revamping shall be complete. ?

LisforLeslie I was about to make a joke about rushing out for fish tank cleaner but stopped when I realized I’d be poking fun at a very real person’s death. Fucking trump and his misinformation. He just believes what he wants to believe damn the consequences. How can people not tell he has dementia?? And a host of personality disorders. They like the racism, homophobia & misogyny so much they’re willing to overlook the failing mental faculties. That they share I guess

fun fact: Dr’s don’t use stethoscopes anymore. I only realized after 4 er visits that they were no longer being used. Nobody had one. Makes sense. Just one of those small changes in our new normal. I wonder if they’ll come back or be considered obsolete

Helen, it baffles me that so many still fail to see Trump for what he truly is. He certainly doesn’t even try to hide his stupidity. Instead, it’s on daily display for all to see. Sigh…

Funny. Whenever I think of these maddening fools — I somehow always hear an over-it Madonna bitterly singing one of my all-time favorite lyrics of hers.

“You’ll wake up one day. But it’ll be too late…”

Goddamn. Is it ever truly too late now. Way, way too fucking late.

@Helen – really, my GP uses one and when I went to the ER they used one. Maybe your physician is DareDevil with really good hearing.

@BGM – my assumption on pool safety (based on my imagination) is that they’d up the chlorine to make the pool a virtual death machine for bacteria, viruses and possibly fungi. I do not know if they will allow the changing room to be open.

On the golf course they use a tripod flag thingy or something like that that doesn’t block the hole and you don’t have to pick it up.

maybe its a protocol they’re using on suspected Covid patients. It looked like i was with only other covid patients. Been to 2 different hospitals and never once saw one. It would make sense to forgo it on patients you’re going to xray & CT scan anyway. It just struck me as odd when I realized nobody’s listened to my chest despite all my chest complaints. Taking pictures is superior and I want as little contact with others as possible
