I forgot to update: my covid test was negative, so whatever I was sick with over the weekend was not covid, but it may have been a secondary infection, which the nurse said she has seen a lot of a few weeks following positive covid tests (I wasn’t able to get a covid test last month when I was sick for two weeks). So, no real clarity yet but I finished my round of antibiotics and I’m feeling a lot better. I plan to wait maybe another week or so and get an antibody test.
May 7, 2020 at 8:56 am #885489I’m so glad you’re feeling better! I don’t know when it will be available to the market, but the intravenous antibody test from Roche is 99% accurate.

Anxiously awaiting our materniti21 test. Once that’s back and everything looks ok, we’ll tell the Grammas. Was hoping to have the info for Mother’s day, but it may be a day late. A lot is hinging on this right now..
AnonymousMay 7, 2020 at 12:30 pm #885498I posted a cool pic of the back porch today — it looks pretty damn fabulous, I must say. Had coffee out there as the sun rose.
Also discovered a third desert iguana rooming just off said back patio. A much smaller one. Maybe a quarter of the other two, but clearly the same. Same markings, coloring, etc. I suspect it’s a young one hatched a month or so ago. The guidebook says that typically happens in April or late March.
Anyway, pretty cool how much wildlife has shown up.
Less Zen thoughts. I’m beyond frustrated about LA opening up. That angry post a few back was me. My phone is bitchy lately about posting. Strange. Only my phone.
AnonymousMay 7, 2020 at 12:42 pm #885499Wendy I was just wondering the status of your test! I’m glad it is negative and that the antibiotics are already helping!
@BGM – I have enjoyed your pictures so much. I never wanted to visit the desert but after your pictures and reading your updates, I really want to travel to the desert. I think it’ll be awhile before we travel like that because it would involve planes and I don’t think I’ll be comfortable flying for a while.
For everyone that has storage space we did an order from a restaurant supplier to stock up on meat and other items we can freeze. Now my husband is really interested in buying our canned goods in the same manner. We’re going to end up looking like an elementary cafeteria with those huge cans of vegetables and so on.
Well…yesterday I started spiking a fever. all of my joints ache. I’m tired and not hungry. minor cough, but mostly feel like I have to clear my throat, but nothing seems to help. just drinking broth today. I have test for covid on Saturday.
Oddly, I was clumsier than normal the day before fever. I am hoping this is a sign on something else than coronavirus. I’m more likely to have a rough ride if its covid, because I’m prediabetic and immunocompromised. And I guess LA county is opening up, which is just crazy to me.

@Wendy – I’m glad you’re on the mend but for you and @MissMJ – you may have had an inaccurate test. The antibody tests are notoriously unreliable: https://www.sfgate.com/coronavirus/article/which-COVID-19-tests-are-accurate-antibody-swab-15250911.php
And even the current COVID tests may not be accurate – the CDC buried that in the very beginning so if your PCP or clinic has some of the unreliable tests …
