It’s 70% of 18+ with at least one dose (which, of course, is different than 70% of the entire population fully vaccinated, but it’s still a great milestone). New York hit this marker this week and we had fireworks (all over the state, I guess, but I only saw NYC’s) last night to celebrate. Everything crossed that the Delta variant doesn’t take hold and that our kids stay safe until they can get vaccinated.

March 29, 2021 at 1:31 pm #1032298Leslie, thanks for the head’s up. A blood clot didn’t even occur to me. I’ll get it checked out soon!
Alafair, I hope you see continued improvement in your lingering symptoms. I’m so sorry you’ve been suffering.
bondgirl, good luck to your friends! I’ve read that the most common pregnancy complication from covid is increased risk of preterm birth, and that that is most common in severe cases (those with mild cases do not seem to be at an increased risk for any complications).
March 29, 2021 at 10:35 am #1032289Oh, and definitely an inability to focus, but I attribute that to being around my children nonstop, day after day after day, from morning until night, for over a year.
March 29, 2021 at 10:34 am #1032288Thanks, Leslie.
I’ll never know for certain that Drew and I had covid this time last year, but I’ve had one lingering physical issue for months – something that only started happening in early fall, out of the blue, and I’ve never experienced before and don’t know what’s causing it. In the exact same spot (in my left calf) I get what feels like an electric shot – what I imagine being tasered might feel like – and it happens several times a day. I don’t know if it’s related to covid or not (if it is, I guess it’s not super common), but I have read of people who had diagnosed covid reporting a similar issue. For what it’s worth, I was 43 during my suspected covid case.
March 25, 2021 at 9:43 am #1032153Congrats, Veritek! I hope your baby girl is getting stronger by the day and soon will be allowed to go home.
March 24, 2021 at 9:14 am #1032131Good luck, Anonymousse! And congrats to everyone getting appointments!
March 19, 2021 at 9:13 am #1031992Just to continue sharing anecdotal data, I got my second Pfizer dose this week and had very minimal side effects – less than I did after the first dose. I was tired enough to skip my daily peloton workout, but no other side effects beyond that, and I felt normal about 36 hours post-shot. I didn’t even really have any arm soreness this time.
March 14, 2021 at 10:05 am #1031795Phew!!!
Drew got his second dose of Pfizer on Friday. No side effects except a sore arm. I think he felt more fatigue after the first one than than the second. I get my second dose this week.
March 7, 2021 at 7:22 am #1031573That’s great, Kate. Hopefully your parents can get an appt there, if they don’t find one sooner.
Here in nyc they’re going to start doing home vaccinations with the J&J vaccine for housebound folks, which is good too.
