I had just “graduated” to Ann Taylor pre pandemic and then it closed all its stores in Canada during the pandemic. Not sure where to buy suits. Banana Republic is uninspiring. I might try Club Monaco. I think Aritzia is an option but I don’t feel cool enough for that. Also weight gain etc.
I don’t really know the best place to write this. My dad, even though he is in Canada, has been watching a lot of Fox News and other YouTube channels. He is retired and my mom says he just sits and watches it all day. He spouting conspiracy theories like Biden didn’t win the election. I don’t know what to do. He needs hobbies. He was always right leaning but this is kind of scary.
Have fun @ktfran!!
Sorry to hear, Vathena. Hope you all recover soon. I agree, at this point we can’t avoid doing anything.
It really is luck at this point. I am so grateful nobody got it at our wedding but we didn’t have extra precautions.
I’m not wearing a mask around the office but I’ll wear masks with clients. I am wearing masks at grocery stores.Hope they open up the second booster here but maybe it is better to wait until they have the updated one.
Murmurs of another wave starting here. Anecdotally I’m hearing of people getting it again. We only get weekly data now so it’s hard to gauge.
Somehow we have avoided it so far but I just don’t know how to anymore. More and more in person meetings with no masks. Most people in grocery stores aren’t wearing masks. And I get it but I just don’t know how we are going to flip the switch and start wearing them again.
That is so exciting!! Can’t wait for my nibbling to get vaccinated.
I think we are in the clear the our wedding wasn’t a super spreader event. I think everyone accepts the risk of going. We are also lucky in Ontario that our cases are stable.
I read an article that you want to time your booster to be right before the next wave so you get maximum benefits. Not sure how you would time it. Those under like 70 aren’t eligible for their second booster here.
Thanks all 🙂 prob the worst part was I accidentally scheduled the limo for half hour less. We were willing to pay but he had another job after so we were a bit rushed at one point. Then while we were in the limo it stopped suddenly and I heard a rip. The clasp had broke. It kind of was hidden by the bustle but not really.
L4L that is scary. Glad you are ok.
Rangerchic, congrats!! Sounds amazing.
We are still looking at doing an international honeymoon. I meant local road trip not field trip haha.
The wedding was amazing!! Honestly pretty much perfect. The weather held out for us. Came back from our honeymoon yesterday. Did a local field trip.
Also catching up on neighbour issues. Strangely our rear neighbour rang our doorbell at 9 pm the Tuesday before our wedding. We didn’t realize it was so late. He wanted to replace a 4’ strip of our fence that overlaps with his (kind of kitty corner). He basically assumed we would say yes. He had no plans or drawings. He wasn’t even going to put up the same style of the rest of the fence. He also didn’t introduce himself! He also wanted an answer the next day because the contractors were coming the Thursday. He clearly didn’t plan it out very well. On Wednesday we told him no and he said ok. We were afraid he would just replace the fence when we were on our honeymoon (didn’t tell him we were going to be away). So far it’s ok.
Hope your friend’s living situation improves, copa. Ugh what an awful neighbour.
It is curious @copa. Hopefully you aren’t too overburdened with those changes.
Hospitalizations and ICUs are on a downward trajectory still here. Fiancé and I decided to cancel/rescheduled our respective bach events. I’m skipping a networking event which sucks because I feel I haven’t seen others in my field for a while. He’s also not going to the office bbq tomorrow. 11 more days until the wedding…
My sister’s office had an overnight team building at a resort. Nobody wore a mask on the bus up and nobody was wearing indoors.
I don’t think they’re going to open up free PCR testing. Did they remove that in the States? I think you have to claim through your insurance?
We’ve been about the same. Still wear masks in public. I still wear a mask around the office though I’ve noticed fewer people doing that. Granted they got covid earlier so maybe that’s why. Feeling more normal around family indoors but there’s still an underlying unknown.
