Another reason not to go, like Brise pointed out, is you make a small point to your husband and his parents that you’re not going to provide cover for his affair. Let him show up with his girlfriend and her third wheel partner looking like a weirdo without you. Then it’s no longer two couples enjoying a beach day. It’s… Something that makes you go hmmm.

Tina, thank you for using a consistent name for once and being relatively transparent.

Look, you say you’ve made this work, but you continue to be sick with stress about the situation. Making it work seems to mean going along with whatever your husband does, and staying married at all costs. It doesn’t mean it’s actually working for you. It’s working for HIM. He gets to keep on doing exactly what he wants, while you suffer and lose sleep. Now his relationship with his girlfriend has progressed to where he’s bringing her home to meet his parents. Of course you’re not okay with that.

You have no good option here. You’ve set the precedent that you’ll stay and go along with whatever he says, no matter what. You have zero leverage. He doesn’t care about you or your feelings. He cares about doing whatever the fuck he wants. There’s no solution here but to leave. The elephant in the room is that he’s been unfaithful before, what, twice?

Don’t go to this thing if it’s not convenient for you. Rest up and use your energy to make an exit plan.

Yikes. I do not want that.

Are they very sick? Or just mild.

That has been my experience too. They’ll negotiate.

Looks like if the company is at least 20 employees they have to provide COBRA. And typically with your severance, you’ll get some bit of extension of your health benefits before COBRA kicks in, or you can push for it.

Yeah, did you talk to an employment lawyer about the situation with laying you off from a place you got Covid? And aren’t they obligated to offer you health insurance continuation (COBRA)? It’s expensive but at least you still have your insurance while you look to sign up for marketplace insurance. It may be perfectly legal to lay you off after you got Covid at work, but it might be shady and not okay.

I always consult an employment lawyer when something happens at work. It has 100% always been worth the few hundred bucks because it has led me to be able to negotiate for more, or keep myself from getting into a precarious situation.

Again, for people who are disgusted by the idea of consulting an attorney, this is NOT about litigating, it’s about advocating for yourself. Employers are only looking out for their interests, not yours.

Anyway, so glad to hear you’re coming out of Long Covid finally. What an awful thing that is.

Well, and if he’s messaging women whose profiles state they are seeking men under 45, that’s rude and inappropriate.

    July 21, 2021 at 10:13 am #1095383

I think he’s said he’s giving all ages a shot now. But yeah, he’s about 48. No woman in her 20s online will date a guy that old unless she’s looking to be a sugar baby, and Robert isn’t that guy. Most women in their 30s will have their preferred age range no higher than 45 as well. Often much lower.

    Deaf ears.

I would add that since he’s around my age, this probably wasn’t something that would have been looked into when he was a kid… they were more focused on ADD and learning disabilities. And I think Robert probably did fairly well in school. Autism or other neurodiversity is something he’d probably have had to explore in adulthood, and he definitely doesn’t seem motivated to do that.

This has been asked on Robert’s past thread(s) and I believe the answer is no to a diagnosis.

Yeah, I do think they will lose voters, but they probably don’t care. They figure this will crash the economy and bring Biden down.

I don’t know how long this digital Cold War has been going on but I’ve been aware of it since summer 2016. Probably has been happening since FB got big.
