Def report back @copa. I’ll be in phase 2 for sure. I wonder since my husband is working on electrical upgrades at Jardine (the water treatment plant next to Navy Pier) if he’ll be eligible with the other water and wastewater folks in 1c. Hahaha. Wishful thinking.
Oddly, I did receive a message from my chart today telling me they’d let me know when I’m eligible. My primary care physician is at Northwestern. I was not expecting that.
Crazy @mg! If I remember correctly, mine had to go to a suburb too. She couldn’t get an appointment in the city. So the few people I’ve known to get one here, including people’s elderly parents, have had to drive 30 min to an hour to get vaccinated. The people I know who work at Rush and Advocate were able to get them at their respective hospitals.
My PT had a hard time getting an appointment. It took her a couple of weeks to get one. And my friend, who works at Northwestern downtown, had to drive to the Lake Forest campus to get her vaccination shot. That was back in Dec/Jan though. My Pilates instructor has had a hard time getting her parents an appointment too.
Interesting that the people you know @copa are having an easier time.
I’m not sure @materialsgirl. I’m sure that’s part of the RFP. I’ll have to read what my team writes. We def need more vaccination sites. I’m glad the City is doing it. I’m mostly annoyed that it took them so long to get this going. The timeline is tight from NTP to doors open.
So, City of Chicago just released an RFP to help the City stand up vaccination sites on Chicago’s East and West sides, so poor, economically disadvantaged neighborhoods. I’m not sure why in the hell they’re just now doing it, but whatever.
My company led the infrastructure components at McCormick (which was never used), so we’re chasing this RFP. We actually talked to the Mayor’s office about this back in, IDK, Nov or Dec.
Anywho… there’s some more Chicago info. for you.
The schedule is to stand up these sites first week of March.
I’m not sure how much luck people in Chicago will have for a while. I’m also curious if it will be like other cities, where wealthy white people travel to these sites and flood them making it harder for the people who need the vaccines the most.
All of this because of a dishwasher. Also, what kind of dishwasher installer doesn’t make sure the water is turned off?? It’s seriously effed up.
I’d seriously look into legal options to recoup all of you losses, including not being able to fully use your house.
I’m so sorry.
So IL has no problem rolling out the vaccine down state. My dad got an appointment immediately, he’s 65 and other than age, isn’t high risk. My hair stylist’s parents had no problem either, middle of the state. Oh, and my BFF has a child with down syndrome. Since she’s her caregiver, she was able to get in last week. Also downstate IL.
It’s Chicago and the surrounding suburbs that are fucked. I’m really hoping for at least my first shot by June. Not holding my breath though.
So yeah, I guess it was two summers ago (seems like longer) that our hot water heater burst in the middle of the night. Our downstairs neighbor came knocking on our door. The husband immediately turned off the water and we apologized profusely. Luckily, the damage to our floor and his was minimal, but yeah, I was mortified and we def apologized.
Insanity!!
@Polly, what do you mean “Hunter is in the White House”? I couldn’t find any reports that he’ll play a role in the Biden administration like Ivanka and Jared did in Trump’s. Maybe he’s just hanging out with his family? I dunno. Not sure what point you’re trying to make.
