Speaking of California, one of my good friends who lives in SF posted a picture of a crowded park, yet he’s not allowed to open his salon. Why isn’t law enforcement breaking up these gatherings?? Or why isn’t the mayor and/or governor closing parks??

I haven’t heard of any massive Covid outbreaks from going to a salon. I’ve felt safe in mine. I witness in-between cleaning and mask wearing.

We moved in together post-engagement. We still don’t have a joint anything. I’m probably not a good example because we’re not an “evens stevens” kind of couple. I do give him a set amount every month. Some goes towards bills/mortgage. A good portion of it goes towards our kitchen/fireplace remodel, which we’re budgeting $80k.

So, besides what I send monthly, he pays for most of our vacations and dinners out. I pay for all of our groceries and our household items like cleaning supplies, soap, etc. After I buy that stuff, whatever I have leftover is what I have for the month to spend or save. For instance, I sent more $ to the local food bank yesterday.

He manages our finances. His parent’s finances. And his uncle’s finances. He’s good with money. I was not. I let him do his thing and we check in every couple of months to see if I need to add more to what I send monthly or change something up. Oh, he also makes, well it isn’t double, but quite a bit more than me.

    It works for us.

I will say, because we’re not traveling or going out at all right now, we’ve been able to save quite this last year.

EDT: Oh, we also never fight about money.

I kind of think Wednesday will be fine in D.C. only because of precautions they’re actually taking and the amount of troops that are present. But I also don’t think that it’s over and some serious shit will happen over the next few months. Those people aren’t done yet.

There might be problems elsewhere. Major cities. State capitols. Etc.

We were going to do a dry January lite in that no drinking during the week and drinking less on the weekend. It was more for the husband than me. Although we did have a drink on the sixth. And last Thursday for my birthday. Who knows, we might open another one of our middle fingers on the 20th to say good fucking by to the outgoing asshole. It’s still a win for the husband though.

Our smoothies are similar. Although we do a little almond milk and a little plain, full fat Greek yogurt. Plus some spinach, a banana and some berries.

Re: Takeout. Over the holiday’s, we ordered a lot more takeout than we had the rest of the year. I needed a break from cooking ALL THE TIME. I could definitely feel the difference with my body and it’s not something I could do on the regular.

I’m sorry you’re having such a hard time LadyE.

I am going to tell you where I think you went wrong, and that’s posting on social media. Especially since you were so angry at one of your close friends for engaging in high risk behaviors. It seems hypocritical, no? So if are going to do something, don’t post about it. Truly. Also, if you need to do something, do something less risky, like the weekend getaway with your boyfriend. NOT the wedding.

I’m sorry you’re hurting. The end is near.

My doctor/pharmacist friends have been fully vaccinated (both shots) and they’re still being just as cautious now as they were a couple of months ago. 1. Because you can still transmit to others. And 2. They have children. And 3. They care about others health. Actually, since the husband is an emergency room doctor, he has slept in a separate bedroom since last March. She said they’ll begin sharing a bed again next week since she got her secco done shot a few days ago. He’s had his for a couple weeks.

FWIW, last fall I said the husband and I were going to rent a house for a month somewhere warm in February because I hate February here. We’re no longer doing that. We’re waiting it out.

@List, same w/ my brows. I pluck the strays and that’s it. Otherwise, they’re pretty good. I will also comb them when I actually wear makeup. That’s the extent of my brow maintenance.

@Copa, one of my cousins did the same thing with her brows and I didn’t recognize her when I visited! My sis also fell victim to the super pluck brow craze.

    Here’s what I’m currently using:
Tata Harper Lip and Cheek Tint (for my cheeks)
    Ilia mascara
    NYX lip gloss
And if I want to add a little extra, I’ll use Laura Mercier tightline cake eye liner.

I do need to buy some new eye shadow. I threw mine out because it was old and I dropped and some of the colors broke and haven’t repurchased. Historically, I had an Urban Decay Naked palette.

I try to keep it fairly simple.

I also have a couple of Christian Dior lipsticks and lipliner if I want to go all out. I like them.

I’ve always used Urban Decay and it did the trick. I haven’t tried any others.

I did a makeup purge a couple months into the pandemic. And then I ordered a couple of clean products that I use most, which is cheek stain and mascara.

    The makeup purge felt great.

I need to streamline my closet sometime too.

My sis got her first vaccination shot! She works at a medical center in our hometown. Actually, all people I know in the medical industry that are associated w/ a hospital have had their first shot.
