MG, this is my bread recipe:

I got from my aunt/cousin who do it all the time. It really can’t be easier!!
I think we might try All Together Now this weekend for dinner. It’s not far from our condo. And oh my god, Schwa! We’re cooking all but two dinners a week. I like supporting the local restaurants since we’re both big restaurant people.
I’ve never made lasagna, but I’ve been making this stuffed shells recipe and it’s amazing. It takes some time though. And it can get expensive.

I’ve made it three times and each time, I divide up into two pans. One for me and one for a new mom to freeze and heat at will, or that night!
I made bread for the first time last weekend. I was so grateful that we found a five-pound bag of flour and yeast at the store.
So far, we’ve been ok with takeout and/or delivery. We ordered mexican on Saturday and you could also order a margarita kit, which came with a bottle of tequila, their margarita mix, limes and salt. It was divine.
@lucidity, I’d definitely recommend a virtual meetup to your husband.I’m an introvert in that i need a lot of downtime to recharge, but I’m a social introvert in that I also really like to be with my friends. Virtual happy hours with friends are family are so helpful right now. Or virtual hang outs if drinking isn’t your thing.Eek. Both my boss and my husband’s boss have asked us to go to the convention center for our project work. Me to document since I’m in marketing. Him to do real project work. His is more essential. We told both of them we’d think about it. I really don’t want to, but I also want to be a team player. Ugh.
Our company is helping making it an emergency hospital.
EDT. The biggest problem for me is getting there. We don’t own a car and I refuse to take cabs or rideshare right now. I’d feel safer on a bus because I know they’re cleaning and honestly, nobody is on them right now.
I’m glad you checked in Wendy! I think of you and your family often and I hope you are getting the break you need. Truly. Be well and stay safe.
Oh, I do have a bit of good news. My friend announced her pregnancy on a virtual happy hour last night. They conceived right around my 40th birthday brunch so I’m going to pretend my super fun party was the catalyst. In sad but understandable news, they are delaying their wedding.
In other good news, my new little niece is doing well. She was a week old yesterday.
In my final bit of news, my company is helping outfit the local, very large convention center with beds. 500 should be up and ready in a couple of days. I really hope I don’t end up there.
Welp, my company is going to cut everyone’s hours to 36/week instead of the 40, thus reducing pay. They’re doing this so they don’t have to lay people off or furlough people and I’m totally on board for the greater good of everyone.
This is why I’m annoyed/pissed. I already work 50 hours a week and get paid 40 (including since Covid started, actually more) and I don’t get paid OT. Since we’re a large, publically traded company it’s all for stockholder show.
I do realize people have it far worse and I’m lucky. I needed to vent a second.
My pregnant friend lives in a 4-story condo in Logan Square. Saturday night, she was so, so angry. Her doorbell rang so she answered thinking it was her husband and that he had forgot his keys while taking the dog for a walk. WRONG. It was people going to a dinner party at their upstairs neighbor and they had rung the wrong house number. A DINNER PARTY?!? In Chicago. Umm. NO!!!!
Her upstairs neighbors are most certainly not Trump supporters. I’ve met them. People from both sides aren’t taking this seriously. It’s infuriating.
Congrats MG!
My sis had her baby yesterday at Prentice!!!!!!!!!!!!! My mom came up to take care of my nephew while she’s in the hospital. I’m trying to help out in the afternoons. My only wish is to not get the virus for the next few days so I can help out my family.
