OHh got it. I have a head cold that is attempting to kill me right now so I don’t have my wits about me. Just chugged Dayquil in the drug store parking lot.

I had a few psycho moments. I dated a real sociopath when I was in college. I would literally find hair ties, single earrings, etc in his bed and he’d claim he’d had a party or friends were over and all sitting on his bed, smoking pot in his room. I was such an idiot, I believed it all. Like, ALL the red flags.

Later on, I moved in with him, and our other housemate would even leave me cryptic notes trying to tell me what was going on. I began to feel crazy when I’d ask and beg for the truth and he’d lie and charm and gaslight me into thinking I was nuts.

I finally caught him in bed with one particular girl once and totally flipped out. He locked me out of my own place with her still inside with him. I waited in the alley next to our place to confront her and then he and I basically brawled in the front entryway with an entire kitchen staff of a fancy restaurant across the street watching us. It was a bad scene.

Did anyone see the news story about the woman charged with stalking after texting a man she met online 65,000 times?!?! (And also apparently breaking and entering and taking a bath in his house.)

Oh I saw the link for that story this a.m. and then got distracted and didn’t read it. Going back to find it now.

If it’s real, it sounds exactly like Lorna Morello on Orange Is The New Black – remember she always talked about her “boyfriend,” but it turned out it was a guy she met once and then stalked and that’s why she was in jail? And then she escaped and went and broke in his house and was in his bathtub with his wife’s wedding veil on? The lady in this story also broke into the guys house and got in his bathtub.

    Oh, this is classic:

“When asked whether Ades recognized thar sending thousands of text messages seemed threatening, Ades responded that love is ‘not perfect.’”

From a WaPo article about it:

“Isn’t that kind of excessive?” she was asked.

“Love is an excessive thing,” Ades replied.

Apparently they met on a site called Luxy, which is for verified millionaires. I’m so glad that the worst that’s happened to me with online dating is dull conversation.

I’m always amazed by the energy levels of these stalkers. I’m avoiding walking to the kitchen right now and these people are following people, plotting routes, hacking accounts, sending tens of thousands of texts. I barely have the energy to message my husband a few times a day to ask what he wants for dinner.

I think Lorna from OITNB also tried to kill her “boyfriend’s” girlfriend right?

And also, how does one get to send 65,000 texts without being blocked after text #1000?

Yeah I think that’s why she was in jail, now that you mention it.

I know, why didn’t he just block her? Did she have thousands of burner phones? Or did the police tell him to keep the texts to document? And it took 65,000 to apprehend her? Or he was just amused by it?

If I remember the Gift of Fear correctly, it’s better to just get a new phone. Any interaction is just engaging with the stalker (presumably after you’ve told them to stop)

I wonder if he periodically replied to some of her texts, teaching her that she needs to send x-hundred texts and she’ll get a reply. Any type of response is a no-no in The Gift of Fear, after telling them to stop contacting you.
