(This is serious advice.) I would look into a different therapist then. I’m sure therapists come across this kind of thing quite often — people having crushes on bosses, teachers, professors, whatever. I think it’s a pretty common thing actually. Not everyone vocalizes it or acts on it or whatever, but everyone has had that one hot teacher or hot boss. It raises my eyebrows that she didn’t know what to say ESPECIALLY since he’s married and off limits.
@SummerRose. I get ya. I’m actually a fan of the word, in the right context:)
Sarah, I promise to let it go, if you will. There are so many intelligent people here that spoke out early and often with advice. You chose to ignore it all and, instead, get in a pissing match with EVERYBODY.
Let. It. Go. Fantasizing about your boss is a normal, “happens all the time” kind of thing. Hell, I fantasize about myself all the time, but I digress. Anyway, lighten up. Talk to someone about your anger issues. And if you are, then keep doing it. But don’t be so angry that you end up picking a fight with the very same people that you chose to ask advice of in the first place just because you don’t like the advice.
And, seriously, the name calling thing is just childish. Let’s use the term “fun factory” instead of cunt from now on. Cool?
FirestarFebruary 16, 2015 at 11:52 pm #335534No darling. Anything can happen is a fallacy. Dinosaurs can’t roam the earth anymore. Kittens can’t be president. This isn’t a Disney movie and you don’t get to wish upon a star.
But if you mean a man can leave his wife for a waitress… Sure that can happen. But a happily married man wouldn’t leave his wife. And a waitress with just a modicum of sense wouldn’t want him to. Wouldn’t even think about it…even as a remote possibility. She’d spend her time focused on available men…and maybe schooling because I have to tell you …the your/you’re issues you’ve been having all day are killing me a little. Today wasn’t your day. Tomorrow might be if you wake up and decide to be better than the person you showed us today.Sarah, any therapist who is actually really good will know how to ask the right questions and will know how to help you sort through your thoughts. Like I said, this is a common thing so the fact that she had no idea how to respond to something that is fairly obvious tells me that it is probably time to find someone else who WILL be able to help you. At the crazy rates they charge, you need someone who will dig deep and get to the root of the problems.
